Starting in Yerevan in the morning, head to the South and see the breathtaking views of Mt. Ararat from Khor Virap monastery where the spark of Christianity started in Armenia. Descend and experience the dungeon pit. Discover the amazing two storey structure of Noravank Church. Visit a local family in Yeghegnadzor and be introduced to the famous Armenian hospitality. Take part in making your own food and and enjoy lunch with the family at Under the Walnut Tree B&B. Take a stroll in Yeghegnadzor and visit Artur to learn about the Armenian willow-weaving culture and try your hand at it. Spend the night in Yeghegnadzor in a tranquil B&B where you will enjoy a delightful dinner.
Start the next day with a marvelous local breakfast before heading further south to Sisian. Take a Soviet-era 4wd vehicle to the petroglyphs of Ughtasar. Enjoy delicious Armenian BBQ picnic lunch near Shakehi Waterfall. Visit Vahagn and Zara at Sisian Ceramics where you will be introduced to the art of Armenian ceramics. On the third day we will head from Sisian to the village of Halidzor and take the world’s longest reversible cableway boasting incredible views to reach Tatev Monastery.
